Yosuien

Yosuien is a feudal lord garden that was built over eight years starting in 1818 as a place to relax and entertain visitors from Nishihama Palace, the retirement home of Tokugawa Harutaka. The site area is approximately 7,000 tsubo, and the pond area is 3,500 tsubo, which is half of that area. The name ``Yosuien'' was given by Kinosuke Sanjo, and the name ``Midori'' in ``Matsu'' means ``Yashinau'' and ``Sono''.
